LoL: Looking for a good top lane combo

Nat and I like to play top lane. Actually that's just me, but Nat likes me (who knows why) and tends to join me up there. We do pretty well against unskilled players, but have recently had our asses handed to us by well-coordinated teams.
Particularly, cc+nuke teams tend to fucking own us. I usually play Cho'gath and Nat plays Sona or Miss Fortune. Even with the heals that Sona puts out, I find that I am struggling to feed. We just don't have any real closing moves.
That said, any suggestion on a couple of champs we might want to try to improve our top lane game?

I wonder if the problem is just my lack of skill. :/The reason I swear so much is because fuck you.
